Various mountaineers within India, particularly those who undertook Himalayan climbing expeditions, had conquered high altitude mountains. It wasn’t until the 1960s that mountaineering in India took a firm hold and institutes began to form. To name a few The Himalayan Mountaineering Institute in Darjeeling (1954) and in Sikkim & Manali were established in 1960 and 1961 as well as the Indian Mountaineering Foundation.

Mt. Ladakhi is a moderate to challenging expedition that begins and ends in Manali, after travelling overnight from Delhi. The trekking commences in Solang Valley and will gain altitude to around 4700 m to base camp. In reaching in Beas Kund individuals will be given the opportunity to practice expedition techniques. The day of summiting Mt. Ladakhi can take around two to three hours (subject to weather conditions) and will return to the base camp on the same day. Throughout the expedition individuals will be staying in tents and all food will be cooked from fresh with lots of nutritional value to maintain good health.
Friendship Peak is a moderate to challenging expedition that begins and ends in Manali, after travelling overnight from Delhi. The trekking commences in Solang Valley and will gain altitude until reach the base camp. In reaching in Bakarthach individuals will be given the opportunity to practice expedition techniques for two days. The day of summiting Friendship Peak (subject to weather conditions) can take a few hours and will return to the base camp on the same day. Throughout the expedition individuals will be staying in tents and all food will be cooked from fresh with lots of nutritional value to maintain good health and energy.
